Employment Services
Employment Services are also available and can involve a range of support as each situation warrants.
Employment Services typically include resume preparation and interview skills training. A supported job search involves support for weekly goal setting, organization and planning, correspondence as needed, some local labour market research to clarify the vocational goal and to identify potential employers, etc. The level of support and amount of service is tailored to the client’s individual abilities and the vocational goal. We are also able to provide a full service job search and we will be responsible for conducting the job search. The client is notified of interview meetings that we arrange.
A Work Placement for Employment can also be provided with a short trial as an adjustment period and allows the client to gain a level of training. The duration of the placement is dependent on the training requirements and the client’s level of abilities. If the trial period indicates a good match of abilities for the job requirements, employment is the end result. Clients need to be “job ready” for this service.
Entrepreneurial programs can be provided for people suited for self-employment. Essential traits and characteristics of the entrepreneur and idea versus opportunity need to be considered. We can provide support to define the necessary components for successful operations and critical elements for success. We can investigate the viability of the business goal with labour market research and provide support for preparing a business plan. In some cases we can provide support for start up needs and for the relevant disability issues.
